What legal cases pertain to police drug testing ?

Any and all. If you do something and have to go to court the judge can ask for you to take a drug test. They look at it like this take a fight if you go there for a fight you would think you would have to test but the judge may say where you fighting cause you were high on drugs? What legal cases pertain to police drug testing ?
Your question is too vague to answer, and at least one of the answers so far is wrong under some conditions. What legal cases pertain to police drug testing ?
A police official cannot give you drug testing unless,it is court ordered by a judge. You must invoke your ammendment rights.

What happens when my case get dismissed for nonpayment and my case will end 10/08, what happens to my money?

My case will end 10/08, they said that the creditors will come after you once the case gets dismissed for nonpayment. What will happen to all the thousands of dollars that I've already paid towards my debts? What happens when my case get dismissed for nonpayment and my case will end 10/08, what happens to my money?
sorry i am to dumb to understand the question!!!!What happens when my case get dismissed for nonpayment and my case will end 10/08, what happens to my money?
Your question isn't very clear. Sounds like you were already sued for nonpayment. If your case is dismissed, they can try suing you again, but that's about it. And if the case was dismissed, they probably won't try again unless they really think they can win.

What will happen to the thousands of dollars you've already paid? Nothing will happen to it. Whoever has it is keeping it.

But since your question isn't very clear, I have no idea what your situation really is.

Why are cases involving negligence so hard to prove? Can you justify paying alimony/child support to a woman?

A couple of Law and Justice questions I need some help withWhy are cases involving negligence so hard to prove? Can you justify paying alimony/child support to a woman?
If a man was her sole source of support, then alimony is his responsibility even if for a short length of time until she can go to school, train for a career, and get established as a provider for the children he abandoned. And the same on the flipside. If a woman were in the same position, she should have to pay alimony to the man.

Child support is non-negotiable. If you are the parent, you pay for the child. Whether it was from a one-night stand, or a ten year committed marriage. The old expression, ';you fathered it, you feed it'; comes to mind.

And on the negligence issue, you have to have beyond a reasonable doubt and plus some proof! Why are cases involving negligence so hard to prove? Can you justify paying alimony/child support to a woman?
You have to prove that the person knowingly neglected someone/thing. Not that it was just a mistake. As for alimony, if you start out in 1 social/economical class %26amp; are higher when the marriage ends, the wife helped the husband get where he is %26amp; he owes her %26amp; has to keep her in the lifestyle she was in at the end of the marriage, not the beginning. Child support is for the kids. The money is for paying to raise them. Most husbands think that they only need to set up a college fund or a bank account to be used when they're grown. Support is paid to the Mom so she can pay the bills; electric, gas, water, rent/mortgage, food, clothes for NOW not later.
Who is to say the person is negligent. What is percieved as negligenence could just be a simple mistake that any one could make but because bitterness is involved it becomes negligence. What do you think should happen no support what so ever to raise a child or is every thing free in today's society.

  • Do you agree that in 9 out of 10 cases of domestic violence the woman is the victim?

...and in 9 of those cases the woman should have kept her mouth shut in the first place?Do you agree that in 9 out of 10 cases of domestic violence the woman is the victim?
I agree.Do you agree that in 9 out of 10 cases of domestic violence the woman is the victim?
the woman is the victim 90% of the time

she should shout it as loud as she can

your question implies it is the woman's fault and she is submissive and weak

the man instigates the violence 90% of the time because of no self esteem. He is probably the type of weak male that wears no pants.
women are just as bad as men, but it's the men that always gets prosecuted, believe me there are men out there that get abused by women a lot of the time %26amp; get away with it simply because the men are to embarrassed to talk about the issue,,,,,,,,
It doesn't matter whether I agree or not, and no, the woman should not have kept her mouth shut, the man should try to act civilized instead of being a wild animal.
Chances are she should of kept her mouth closed and left the guy.
So your saying a man has just as much rights to hit a woman as she does to voice her opinion. stfu you primitive male
    Yes
    omg ,,

so man have right to beat woman if she bother him !!
    no. you need to stfu!!!!!

Men who hit women are cowards.
yes...sounds like u get off on beating women ..u should never touch a woman that way no matter what the circumstance, walk away it's not necessary to justify ur actions...u need to learn more respect.

Why is it easier for a male voice to fill a room than a female's(in most cases)?

i think its because the deeper voices of males are easier to hear for our ears, and higher sounds are more difficult to hear. for example dogs can hear really high-pitched whistles but we cant...but i dont know why :-/Why is it easier for a male voice to fill a room than a female's(in most cases)?
Uh, Leeroy is not the answer to pick. Low frequency is long wavelength, measured in hertz. Deep voices are low frequency. The fact that low frequency mens voices predominate might have something to do with resonance within the building materials themselves. The pitch or low frequency of male voices might have the potential to resonate better with the bricks or gyprock/plasterboard or wood used in most constructinos than that of females. In one of those ';sound-proof/baffled'; rooms that do not echo/resonate, a high pitch sounds as loud as a low pitch (tried that myself). Good question thoughWhy is it easier for a male voice to fill a room than a female's(in most cases)?
First of all, male voices are low frequency, which means that the wavelength is large. (Wavelength=speed of sound/frequency). Female voices are high frequency and hence the wavelength is shorter.

The perception that low frequency sound ';fills a room'; more easily than female voices is due to ';reverberation'; or the bouncing of sound around a room off walls, ceilings, etc. Now in general high frequency sounds are absorbed more readily than low frequency sound, by absorbent materials such as carpet, curtains, and people. Therefore after a fixed amount of time, high frequency sounds will have been absorbed and low frequency sound will still remain.

But of course it depends upon how much effort the male or female speaker puts into their voice!

Note: Female voices are actually easier to hear than male voices, because the sensitivity of the ear decreases as frequency decreases.
because mens voices have shorterwave lengths of sound so they trvel further...think about those people that have loud stereos...you hear the bass because they are short waves lengths, so they travel further. womens voices have a longer wavelength of sound so they dont travel as far

EDIT: now that you say something i do realize i had it backwards deeper voices are longer wavelengths while higher pitched voices have shorter wavelengths
    1

Frequency. Voice with low frequency has better distribution in the environment than a higher voice.

    2

Power. Men tend to have more powerful muscles for breathing and can produce louder voice.

    3

Culture. If several female persons and one male person have a meeting, women tend to listen if the only man starts to tell something (at last...).

    4

There are exceptions, of course: ladies with low voice, strong muscles for breathing and a tendency to ignore the ideas and feelings which men would like to express...

Are there cases of bulimia with non-depression?

My friend, he's a guy, has a problem where he doesn't realize how much he's eating and then eats so much to the point where he gets nauseous and throws the meal back up.

Now he's not depressed, and he's not doing it to lose weight or anything, so is this still bulimia?

and he uh... doesn't want to see a doctor.

too much money blah blah blah

Tums doesn't exactly help him either.

=Are there cases of bulimia with non-depression?
    |OK - the answer to this isn't simple so hang on in there with me a second. It's not really depression, but more of a means of processing anxiety. The fear of it actually increases the impact of it. It's pretty vicious. However, there are ways to manage it, and there are some good resources out there. Often doctors don't actually help. One of my clients was just told, ';You should try and eat more.';

    Great.

    You'll find some help here:

In what cases could discrimination be a positive thing?

and don't say it never is, because thats not useful.

just for example, like if 2 people were applying for a job in a church of england school to teach religion, a person who was church of england would be chosen over a muslim teacher, because parents might not want her beliefs to rub off on the children.

and im not saying that i agree with that, but can anyone think of any other examples? and you dont have to agree with your reason. In what cases could discrimination be a positive thing?
maybe this is good maybe not, but i think certain all Black colleges and all White colleges are good because then there is no violence,no racism, no superiority due to raceIn what cases could discrimination be a positive thing?
Usually for political reasons or political correctness.

If you had to choose 10 players for a ball team, and 10 of them trying out were white and there was a Black kid making 11.

Lets say that black kid really was the worst...would you really cut him?

You wouldn't elect a president of another ethnic background.

    E.g.

If the USA elected a Chinese president, and lets say he was good! like he was doing everything right for america.

Pulling out troops, lower taxes, less military, etc!

But at the same time, you know he would always slightly lean towards the well being of china, which is not good because China is now USA biggest competitor.

Things like that could always get in the way.

Same with Obama being black, the way he treats african countries are going to be different than if it was a white president.
Americans call it ';positive discrimination'; us kiwis call it

'; affirmative action'; I call it ';bullsh*t'; Its when people get more opportunities because of their race. Which for me means that a Maori student might get my place, even if their grade is lower than mine.
You can discriminate against child molesters. They should die.
when a 30 year old guy tries to get a 17 year old girl to go out with him. the girl should discriminate and assume hes up to no good.
none. i believe discrimination destroys the society.

Do PS3 games saying in the back of their cases it supports 720p in HD will work on Standard TV? Thanks!?

Sure it will work. Saying it supports 720p basically means that if you play the game on a HDTV, you can play it in 720p but to do that you need to first get a HDTV that can display 720p (almost all of them can) and either a HDMI or a Component cable to connect the PS3 and the TV.

I'm gonna be getting a HDMI cable so I can play in HD but right now, my PS3 and the TV are connected by the AV (Red, White and Yellow) cable that came with the PS3. This works fine, it just downscales the game to Standard Definition (480i) so you'll have no problems playing the game.

Good luck, hope I helped! :)Do PS3 games saying in the back of their cases it supports 720p in HD will work on Standard TV? Thanks!?
Yes it will work on a standard tv. 720p is just maximum it will

up-convert to on a HDTV. When I first got my X-Box 360 I had to hooked up to a standard tv and it worked fine. I have an HDTV now and I can really see a difference on the colors and graphics being displayed.Do PS3 games saying in the back of their cases it supports 720p in HD will work on Standard TV? Yes they will. But sometimes the text maybe very small because most game makers assume you have a widescreen tv. There are usually settings in the options menu that allow you to compensate.
Yes, they will play fine, it just means that if you play them on an HDTV, they will play in HD, but they will play on a standard TV as well:)
Yes, all PS3 games will work on a standard TV, but 720p means if you have a HDTV it'll display in that.

Why don't we use lie detectors to solve cases/trials?

Lie detector tests (polygraphs) read your reaction to certain questions, not just your answer of ';yes'; or ';no';. The issue with this is that if your mind wanders or a question asked triggers something, a reaction or thought, it is recorded as a jump on the meter. The person giving the test will note this and ask follow up questions depending on how you reacted to certain base questions. They might ask ';when i asked this question blah blah blah, you showed a change in your levels, why is that?'; So the reason they arent used in cases or trials like you are thinking is because of this issue of perception and emotional/mental triggers. Why don't we use lie detectors to solve cases/trials?
Lie detectors aren't 100% accurate. They only detect what the person being tested perceives to be a lie (unless the person is trained to pass tests by meditation).

For example, if a person honestly believes a lie to be truth and takes a lie detector test about that lie...the test will show them to be telling the truth, when in reality it's a lie.

Let's use an example. We all know President Lincoln was a Republican. But if a person was taught that Lincoln was a Democrat and then hooked up to a lie detector and asked if Lincoln was a Democrat...they could answer yes (a lie) and pass the test (telling the truth). Why don't we use lie detectors to solve cases/trials?
They are 100% reliable for what they test, but what they test is simply pulse, respirations, and sweat on the finger tips.

The whole ';lie detector'; part is all on the shoulders of the one administering the test. And as people are fallible, the determination cannot be 100% accurate.

People can't beat the machine so much as they can just outwit the person administering the test. It's a psychological thing.
    100% accurate my @ss

they dont tell you anything about whos lying or telling the truth

    they only measure nervousness

so say your nervous about being in the room or being hooked up to a machine... bamn!! you fail

your a lil shaky about being questions... cklvhdfsj you failed again

or maybe you just dont like the pressure .... dsfgds you failed even though you just said the sky is blue and water is a liquid

you still failed... they are junk. period....
They can be beaten too easily to convict someone based on the results.
    lie detectors are not reliable.

Topic: 8 Ball Pool. Qs: What are the cases when you have the cue ball in hand?

Sorry for asking such a lame question, but I just started playing and I am unsure when I can have the cue ball in my hand. Please correct me if I am wrong, it is when

    1) The cue ball hits no ball

    2) The cue ball hits the opponent's ball

    3) The cue ball flies off the table

    4) The cue ball hits the black ball when it's not supposed to be hit.

    5) The cue ball goes in to the pocket

Are these 5 cases correct? Are there more?Topic: 8 Ball Pool. Qs: What are the cases when you have the cue ball in hand?
Your five are basically correct, with the following addition; when hitting your ball, either the object ball, the cue ball or another ball contacted by either the OB or the CB must proceed to a rail or pocket. Otherwise, skilled players (or lucky players) would simply nudge the cue ball into one of their balls, leaving the opponent with no shot. Don't get me wrong, defense is often the correct play, but should be done in a legal and sporting manner. Driving the object ball or cue ball to a rail forces the shooter to use more skill when attempting to play defense. Strict rules may indicate that touching any ball on the table with your hand, cue, or clothing is also a ball in hand foul.Topic: 8 Ball Pool. Qs: What are the cases when you have the cue ball in hand?
8-Ball is a real pain, because rules have only recently been standardized. House rules still change things. But the newer international rules are interesting, and work well with TV tournaments --- meaning it's fun to watch.

Go here to answer questions regarding pool:

    http://www.bca-pool.com/play/tournaments鈥?/a>

I have several older rule books, and they all disagree with one another regarding 8-ball. This site helps solve questions relating 8-ball, 9-ball, and a bunch of other games.

    Have fun.
The way I play is that when the cue ball hits no other ball, hits the opponents ball before your own, hits the 8 ball before your own, or goes in a pocket, it's a scratch and you have to put it behind the first 2 dots on the table.

When it flies off the table I think you can put it anywhere on the table you'd like.

A good website to look at is: http://www.pool-table-rules.com/
1,2,3+5 are correct. Also if you dont hit your ball first it is a foul, so #4 is correct in that case,as mentioned by previous answers. Also if you fail to either pocket a ball, or contact a cushion with the cueball or another ball AFTER the initial hit, it is a foul. All fouls result in ball-in-hand.

You would be best to get a copy of the BCA rules, although there are a lot of rules applied to different leagues and tourneys.IMO BCA rules are the most generally accepted.
The cue must hit your ball first so there is #1 and #2

#3 and #5 are considered a scratch so it's ball in hand

for #4 if your ball is hit first then its ok..it doesnt matter if the 8 is hit.

If the 8 gets sunk before all your balls are off the table..you lose...if you scratch on the 8 you also lose.

Why is this Polygamist abuse case making headline news, when the Catholic church has had more abuse cases?

Go to you tube and check out ';Pope still protecting pedophile bishops'; Its a video from abc newsWhy is this Polygamist abuse case making headline news, when the Catholic church has had more abuse cases?
The consistency of the press to link the FLDS group with the LDS church is interesting and revealing. It would take less than 5 minutes of journalistic effort to arrive at the true relationship between the two; that it is nonexistent.

It takes longer than that to craft each story in such a way that the fabricated association between the two is not readily evident.

Another example of lockstep press bias, is the coverage of the 16yo girl who lodged the initial complaint. Her story of abuse at the hands of FLDS members has been repeated so often it has become rote.

But who has read the story that the girl never existed? The initial accusation against the FLDS was an invention of Rozita Swinton. A 33yo black woman of Colorado Springs TX.

    http://www.keyetv.com/content/news/topne鈥?/a>

She has been arrested for that crime. Has anyone here read that? Wouldn't that be at least as important as endlessly repeating the initial (and false) accusations?

Another story buried or ignored is how the oft recounted, bizarre details of FLDS life are debunked in court by John Walsh, an independent religious scholar. CNN mentions it; at the end of the article, in a tone very different than the headline.

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/04/18/poly鈥?/a>

Also, there is how the prosecution 'expert', Bruce Perry sits on the editorial board of ';Cultic Studies Review';. CSR is better known as the American Family Foundation, an 'anti-cult' entity; originally assembled from smaller organizations dedicated to the elimination of Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Roman Catholics and other not-Protestant Christian faiths.

CSR is now a prominent entity of secular and religious leaders, unified in the goal of deciding who are cultists and then systematically targeting them.

I only know enough about the FLDS to know that they are not Latter Day Saints by any viable definition. I have no knowledge of any other abuse claims or if they are valid. But I've acquired enough evidence to indicate that the press and the prosecution are behaving as if there is no profit in the truth of the matter.

HKWhy is this Polygamist abuse case making headline news, when the Catholic church has had more abuse cases?
At this point I have to tell you or anyone here who is adamant against the Catholic Church to simply ';Pick up a stone and begin throwing it at the Pope! Or better yet, how about the Priest of person sinning? Because, that's exactly what some are doing here...........Judging others! If you had a specific question about the matters at hand, why not simply write to the Vatican and express your disappointments.

The simple fact is that although you and I may not know it, your very Preacher may have his/her own scandal going on against God in the way of sin, and you may be taking in or wrisking losing the opportunity to gain good wisdom and knowledge of God because of your doubts about others....And we all sin? Right? If a ';man of Faith'; feels he has a calling and his journey takes him through Seminary School and into the Word of God, who are we to want to question or even discontinue his journey to the other end that God may have planned in his life in order that he may come out a convicted and clean spirit? Or even the people who are and have been protecting them, for all that matters. Do you not think that there are many maids in Pastors homes who may know many dark secrets about their employers who could reveal much deviancy about them. Do you feel it is their duty to do so? Stones Anyone?
why bother? i know it's all lies anyway. The Pope apologized for what former clergy men have done to children why can't you let it all lie still please? Questions like this are getting old. As you can tell, The Catholic Church scandal died from the news months ago. Now it's another's turn.
Because it is taboo to talk about religion politically . People are so afraid of being called a hatemonger or intolerant they just avoid the subject all together. I don't care what people think of me. If i see something wrong regardless of who it came from i speak on it.bad is bad no matter whos commiting the crime.
The Polygamist case is new news where as the Catholic priest scandal has been going on for years.

The Polygamist case involves the custody of children at a historically high number whereas the Catholic priest case did not involve child custody.
Grrrrr ... if I had a dollar for every time someone said ';what about the catholics'; I would be rich!

The fact is in every organization, club, school etc has pedophiles ... it is not just the Catholic Church.
Everyone knows priests should not touch children... that is not disputed. The priests are hangning their head in shame.

In the case of the polygamist, this man believes what he is doing is ok. That makes for a better news story.
Probably because the alleged abuse at the polygamist compound is a recent thing.

Most cases of sex abuse by Catholic priests, on the other hand, happened quite some time ago.

    .
For the simple fact that the scandal in the Church has been out there for some time. It doesn't get ratings like it used to. Polygamy comes and goes in the headlines and the viewers eat that stuff up.
There is a lot of money and power in the catholic system. It is not a church. It is a system.
Abuse within the Catholic Church is an aberration.

Abuse within the FLDS is doctrine.
Because in every instance it is wrong and as a society we should be ashamed of the scum-bags we continue to tolerate whether they are catholic or defected-mormons.
Because its the dominate religion and it would be bad if they set off the ';molesting preiset'; image, wouldn;t be good for publicity
Anytime children are abused, it should be dealt with.

We should not have a contest to see who abuses the ';most'; children %26amp; only focus on them %26amp; ignore the rest.
The White House needs a new distraction. They found one.
Why would one crime cancel out the other. They are both ghastly

In 2006, former Governor George Ryan (GOP) was convicted of racketeering and bribery. In the late 20th century Congressman Dan Rostenkowski (Dem) was imprisoned for mail fraud; former governor and federal judge Otto Kerner, Jr. (Dem.) was imprisoned for bribery; and State Auditor of Public Accounts (Comptroller) Orville Hodge (GOP) was imprisoned for embezzlement. In 1912 William Lorimer, the GOP boss of Chicago, was expelled from the U.S. Senate for bribery, and in 1921 Governor Len Small (GOP) was found to have defrauded the state of a million dollars

i honestly dont know but i hope you can find your options B and C
Remember that there is very little objectivity to be had, since Judges are either elected or appointed by elected officials. Lifetime appointments don't make Judges apolitical, they just secure the Judges' politics from the electorate's.

What cases does the Supreme Court hear?

Does the supreme court hear cases involving disputes between states, representatives of foreign government, appeals from state and federal courts or all of these? What cases does the Supreme Court hear?
This smells like a school question, but all of those can be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Whether or not the Court chooses to hear them is another matter.

A small caveat, appeals from state courts usually can't be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court, but there is a procedure by which it can be possible. What cases does the Supreme Court hear?
    Any cases they want. Seriously.

They typically only take cases where they think the Constitution needs clarifying.

The cases work through the FEDERAL system. State cases have a seperate system of judicial review.
ok is it the supreme court of the US, or of a state, if its of the US all are correct, if its a state then not from foreign government, and not federal cases

Poor food hygiene may cause a few cases of diarrhea ('a dose of the trots'), but will not lead to serious ill?

True or false?Poor food hygiene may cause a few cases of diarrhea ('a dose of the trots'), but will not lead to serious ill?
the CDC estimates that foodborne diseases cause approximately 76 million illnesses, 325,000 hospitalizations, and 5,000 deaths in the United States each year. Known pathogens account for an estimated 14 million illnesses, 60,000 hospitalizations, and 1,800 deaths. Three pathogens, Salmonella, Listeria, and Toxoplasma, are responsible for 1,500 deaths each year, more than 75% of those caused by known pathogens, while unknown agents account for the remaining 62 million illnesses, 265,000 hospitalizations, and 3,200 deaths. Overall, foodborne diseases appear to cause more illnesses but fewer deaths than previously estimated.Poor food hygiene may cause a few cases of diarrhea ('a dose of the trots'), but will not lead to serious ill?
Poor food hygiene can lead to food poisoning. In fact, that may be what causes the diarrhea. Food poisoning. And of course, some cases of food poisoning can be very serious, or even deadly.
Of course, not cooking food properly will cause it to be contaminated with bacteria. Your body will try to get rid of the bad food by diarrhea or vomit and possibly become seriously ill.

Where can I find indiana family law cases regarding relocation of child out of state?

I have full custody and am getting remarried and fiance lives in another state. There is a new ruling in Indiana regarding this ruling and wanted to know if there were any family law cases where the relocating parent was not able to move due to an objection from the non-relocating parent.Where can I find indiana family law cases regarding relocation of child out of state?
Im not really sure but try this web site:

http://www.in.gov/fssa/carefinder/law/Where can I find indiana family law cases regarding relocation of child out of state?
Indiana's Administrative Assembly. Go to Laws and Administrative Rules, Indiana Code, Title 31, Chapter 3: Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Law.
how about you get a lawyer
There can be restrictions, yes, but only if they were spelled out in your divorce decree.

Having said that.....is this in your kid's best interest? Just because you have custody doesn't mean that your kids shouldn't get a chance to know their dad as they grow up.

I think you should stay put, for your kids. If your fiance is unwilling or unable to move near you, then maybe you should put your kids where they belong (that is, put your kids first) and postpone your new marriage until your kids are older.
    http://www.in.gov/legislative/ic/code/ti鈥?/a>

look at articles 17 %26amp; 18 of the state title 31.

Just scroll down you'll see it.

I believe all the answers you seek will be found there. A lawyer can help you do all the forms and argue the law in your favor though. Past cases are public record, but you'll probably have to go down to superior court and look them up I couldn't find anything online that you can just get access to.

  • Cases concerning the contemporanity of actus reus and mens rea?

Listed here! http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:TuT鈥?/a>Cases concerning the contemporanity of actus reus and mens rea?
Thabo Meli v R (1954) 1 AER 373 (PC) Four defendants intended to kill their victim so they induced him to consume alcohol, struck him on the head and threw the ';body'; over a cliff to make the death appear accidental. Because they thought that the blow had killed him, there was no mens rea when they abandoned him and he died from exposure. The first act did not cause death but had the appropriate mens rea. The second act caused death but had no mens rea. But the Privy Council held that it was impossible to divide up what was really one transaction. The actus reus was said to be the series of acts and omissions with mens rea covering the initial stages.

In R v Church (1965) 2 AER 72 during an argument, the defendant struck the victim and, mistakenly believing her to be dead, threw her into a nearby river where she drowned. He was convicted of manslaughter.

In R v LeBrun (199]]1) 4 AER 673, the defendant struck his wife during an argument outside their house leaving her unconscious. He then tried to drag her inside but, as he did so, her head struck the pavement, fracturing her skull and killing her. At first sight, this is distinguishable from R v Church because death was accidental, whereas Church was intentionally disposing of the ';body';. But, in attempting to drag his unconscious wife indoors, LeBrun was either trying to conceal his initial assault on her, or forcing her to enter the house against her wishes (this being the original reason for the argument). The trial judge had directed the jury to acquit if they concluded that LeBrun had been trying to help his wife when he moved her, and the Court of Appeal agreed that this would have broken the essential nexus between the two halves of the incident.

In AG's Reference (No. 4 of 1980) (1981) 2 AER 617 the defendant was struggling with his girlfriend and she fell over a landing rail on to the floor below. Believing her dead, he dismembered her in the bath to dispose of her ';body';. It was impossible to prove whether she had died in the original fall or whether he killed her by his subsequent actions. The Court of Appeal held that a manslaughter conviction was only possible if each of the defendant's acts was accompanied by the requisite mens rea for that offence. At the very least, there must be an unlawful act which was the cause of the ultimate death. It was not enough to establish criminal negligence only in the subsequent act of disposal. Hence, the prosecution had to disprove D's claim of accident, i.e. that he had merely pushed her away in a ';reflex action'; when she dug her nails into him in the struggle on the upstairs landing.Cases concerning the contemporanity of actus reus and mens rea?
Mens Rea, as an element of criminal responsibility, a guilty mind; a guilty or wrongful purpose; a criminal intent. Guilty knowledge and wilfulness.

The actus reus 鈥?sometimes called the external elements of a crime, activity that transgresses moral or civil law.

go to archives in the paper as well the courthouse whee it was filed in in there archives there as well ?
have you tried maybe looking on thier old news paper articles, sometimes they have internet acess to them...or you may have to write to them and ask for copies.
You are not doing research, you are dreaming. How can you say you are doing research and ask such a basic question. Its like saying you are a writer and asking if you should use a dictionary.

are you putting anything into the mould like oil or butter? give it some butter and this usually helps just a thin layer! also people often buy a non sitck baking tray but then use a scouring pad on it which removes the teflon layer in a very short time only use a soft pad an soak it properly! You can also use the paper moulds! My fairy cakes keep sticking to the cases, what am i doing wrong?
Maybe they need a bit longer to bake . I really dont know ive never heard of this happening. They shouldnt stick. I think that the only thing i can think of is that it is something to do with the recipe. Try changin it and gettin a new recipe from a freind or relative and see if the same happens. Also you could try changing your bun cases.
Not enough fat in the mixture and cooking them too long and too high.
put a thin layer of crisco on the pan then flour. this helps with alot of baking.

If you have a screen protector for the iPod Touch, will it fit into other cases?

here is the link to the case that I want

http://www.xtrememac.com/cases/touch/ver鈥?/a>If you have a screen protector for the iPod Touch, will it fit into other cases?
If you are talking about the screen protectors that are just a plastic film that covers the screen, then certainly yes.

But, and don't be mad at me for saying this if you already bought one, I am not fond of screen protectors. I used to have one on my psp and it really made the screen appear sort of dull and less crisp. I have an iphone and from my experience, and from videos I've seen online, it's pretty difficult to scratch the screens on these things. I watched 2 where the testers really put a hurt on the screen with keys, and alas, no scratches.

But, I suppose there's no harm in a little extra protection. The protective film isn't going to really be any trouble as far as your ipod fitting into a case. Gotta add that I am really fond of the iphone (which is pretty much the same as the touch); it's my first apple product. And apple is good about any problems. If you ever have any problem with it aside from damage from dropping it or whatever, they are happy to replace it for free during the one year warranty period.

Investigators give a John Doe /Jane Doe name for an unnamed cadaver , as sort of identification until a person has been identified then its the time they name them with their real namesWhat do ';John Doe'; and ';Jane Doe'; cases mean?
John Doe - Male unidentified dead body in a case.

Jane Does - Female unidentified dead body in a case.
It means that the name of the deceased it unknown. They just give the name John or Jane Doe to the dead person.
    this explains it:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Doe
They don't have any identification on the person -don't know who they are.
Thats what they call people when they dont have their names. John for guys and jane for girls
unidentified body which means most likely an unsolved case.

拢40,ooo to reprot cases of Female Genital Mutilation , couldnt the NHS use this for a better Purpose ?

This is serious stuff and the NHS should be spending money on it...there is a world wide campaign to stop genital mutilation...time has passed when this ritualistic practice should be occurring and, honestly, I would rather see 40 thousand pound spent on such a worthy cause than the millions of pounds spent on abortion.拢40,ooo to reprot cases of Female Genital Mutilation , couldnt the NHS use this for a better Purpose ?
This is an archaic act performed on young girls so that they won't desire men before marriage and will be faithful after marriage. I watched a documentary on this and I thought I'd throw up. Many of these young girls bleed to death and if they survive suffer extreme physical problems for life. The most horrible thing is that it is performed by other women not the men.拢40,ooo to reprot cases of Female Genital Mutilation , couldnt the NHS use this for a better Purpose ?
It's 拢20 000, and it's the police who are offering it.

And no, I do not think it could be put to a better purpose.

You take on screaming terrified little girl, hold her down and cut off her most sensitive parts with a blunt instrument - this is what circumcision is. You try having someone cut off your foreskin with a blunt knife and see how you feel.
What better reason could you thing of? Isn't torture and mutilation of young innocent girls a pretty good cause?
    you bet ye.
What if it was male gential mutilation, would you still have the same feelings? Do some research, these poor girls go through hell because of the atrocites that are committed in the name of their religion.
And what do you recommend they spend the money on?

Finding idiots like you maybe and cutting off your balls with a blunt razor blade, oh that's right, you probably haven't got any!!!

I would assume that the magnets would not affect my iPod, since it uses RAM instead of a hard-drive, but my iPod had a strange reset error while it was in the case. It only happened once, and though everything has been working fine, it just made me wonder if the magnets might be having a negitive affect on my iPod. So, do you think it's safe? Are iPod Touch magnetic cases safe?
No matter what, if your i-pod is made out of metal you shouldn't use it.

About how many fiancee cases have been successful, after receiving 221-g for validity of relationship?

My fiancee received a 221-g in morocco after his interview in june. The officer told him our case was ';open';. Turns out our case was sent back with a question as to the ';validity of our relationship';. We have not been told what this means exactly but are prepared with more proof. I have been told by the dept. of homeland security that maybe its just security checks, but no one knows for sure. I just wanted to have some idea what to expect. Any advice is gratefully appreciated.....thanks in advance...smile.About how many fiancee cases have been successful, after receiving 221-g for validity of relationship?
This means that the interviewing officer was not convinced that yours is a genuine relationship that will lead to marriage. If the officer ';sent it back,'; that means that he or she returned it to DHS for possible revocation. If that's so, you will eventually recieve a notice from DHS about their intention to revoke the petition. That notice will include the consular officer's summary from the interview. You will have - I think - 30 days in which to respond and try to convince DHS that you have a valid lead-to-marriage relationship with your fiance. IF you don't respond promptly, or if you don't convince DHS that the officer was wrong, the petition will be cancelled.About how many fiancee cases have been successful, after receiving 221-g for validity of relationship?
Applicants are ineligible under section 221 (g ) because he failed to bring some information or document or some further procedure or review by US or another US agency and must be completed.

  • Do you think SOME cases of Human Spontaneous Combustion could be of a spiritual nature?

What a good question very interesting I never thought about it but yes I suppose it could have. I have heard stories about people who blasphemed the Holy Spirit just dying on the spot or suddenly get hit randomly wow something to think on.Do you think SOME cases of Human Spontaneous Combustion could be of a spiritual nature?
Considering there is no reason to believe in something as unsubstantiated as SHC, I would say no it's not spiritual. It's about as real as spirits though.Do you think SOME cases of Human Spontaneous Combustion could be of a spiritual nature?
No, most likely it is a chemical reaction in the body or the area the person is sitting on like a couch may combust do to the temperature of the body's heat.

I don't think this one is spiritually related.

Rev. TomCat - Smoking in bed may cause it!
I think it's caused by holding your farts in.
I think someone watched a few too many episodes of X-Files.
    No. SHC is a myth.
I think they all are. It still adds up to none.

    No.
I don't EVER normally enter the R/S. I respect it, and won't say anything bad. I first read the other answers first. It confirmed my suspecions. Why would you ask a scientific question, that only uses Bible quotes, and closed minds?? If the answer can't be turned into a scripture, or quote, it can't be possible. Your odds, are about one tenth of one hundreth per cent. Exit with me quick, before we get hundreds of violations. Would you jump in a Lion cage, and scream %$^k meat!!!! I don't think so.

Is it true that matrimonial cases must always be drawn out and expensive for both parties?

no, some people choose to settle very quickly b/c they don't want to deal with the stress and the hassle. they are usually expensive though, especially in the case that a settlement is unreachable. Is it true that matrimonial cases must always be drawn out and expensive for both parties?

How do i find court cases?

i need to find some court cases having to do with a company hiring an incompetent worker. where online could i find this?? any help would be much appreciated...thanks in advance! How do i find court cases?
Go to your local courthouse or law school and use the law library there. It sounds like you will be researching a tort called 'negligent hiring,' but that is just a guess based on the few facts you gave.

Since torts are court-created, you would be focusing solely on case law. Remember, the cases you research must be from your jurisdiction (the technical aspects of torts often vary by jurisdiction), and you must Sherpardize the cases to make sure they are still good law. Also, if a case isn't published (i.e. if you must get it via the Freedom of Information Act), then it definitely isn't binding precedent and would be of no use to you in a legal argument. Similarly, just because a case is published doesn't mean it is binding either. You must Shepardize to see if the case is still good law.

Without a subscription to Westlaw or NexisLexis (both of which are extremely expensive), you are unlikely to find the cases you need online. How do i find court cases?
LexisNexis. You may have to subscribe. Otherwise, your best bet is to hit the main branch of the public library or the library at your local bar association. Books are better, hard to change what is in print. And, your state probably publishes all court cases as does Michigan. Check Shepherds also. the bar association can direct you to this also.
Depends on what you are looking for,and the state you live in.Not all cases are a matter of public record either.

If you can't find it on line you, may have to go down to the clerk of the court, for what you seek, and see if they will give you that information under the Freedom Of Information Act,which is federal law.

  • How do these court cases affect the U.S. today?

    -Marbury v. Madison

    -McCulloch v. Maryland

    -Gibbons v. Ogden,

    Also;;

    Why is Gibbons V.Ogden important?

and what's a brief summary that happened? How do these court cases affect the U.S. today?
Gibbons v. Ogden 1824 - Gibbons and Ogden were 2 ferry operators in the waters of New York state. Ogden sued Gibbons asking the court to stop him from operating. NY court restrained Gibbons. Gibbons suit was decided by U.S. Supreme Court in 1824. The high court ruled that the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution gave all powers to the U.S. Congress to regulate interstate commerce, and the individual states could not. Supreme Court held for Gibbons.

It is important because: If each of the 50 states passed laws regulating interstate commerce, then they may all be different, and would be like a patch-work quilt of laws, and that would be too burdensome on interstate commerce. Truckers, railway companies, buses, planes, companies doing business in each state, all would have to comply with the laws of 50 states as they passed from one state to the other, and that would be unduly burdensome on interstate commerce. A notable exception is the state's power to set speed limits on their state's highways.

Marbury v. Madison - 1803 U.S. Supreme Court case established the doctrine of ';judicial review'; that held that Courts have the power to decide whether a law passed by a legislative body is constitutional, and if it is not, then the law is void. This is an example of how their are ';checks and balances'; of one branch of government, the judicial branch, over the legislative branch.

McCulloch v. Maryland - President Madison after War of 1812 decided that the country could use a national bank (as opposed to state banks) to help finance the country's constitution and laws, so he did.

The state of Maryland fought the establishment of a national bank by passing an exorbitant tax against national banks, and the bank refused to pay the tax. resulting in the case going to the US Supreme Court who upheld the national bank by ruling that the tax was wrong and interfered with the workings of Congress, and who upheld national banks by saying that even though the Constitution had not expressly created the national banks by legislation, that many powers of the government are implied rather than specifically stated in the Constitution. How do these court cases affect the U.S. today?

Why there are so many Divorce cases in the west countries? Do u think it is happening of Freedom, human rights

Yes, this is because of the freedom and human rights on the one hand, but because of the lack of love, giving and respect on the other hand too.Why there are so many Divorce cases in the west countries? Do u think it is happening of Freedom, human rights
Basically marriage is a life time contract in India and is taken by the parties as a duty (Aashrama dharma)-not just a licence to sex. In some cultures it is a contract involving a certain amount of money in case of';divorce';. In Judaism and Catholicism divorce is not allowed. However the real reason for higher incidence of divorce in west is that there is hardly any family life - which counsels and helps resolve disputes between H %26amp; W. The divorce rate is on the rise in India and soon may surpass the west. The sanatana Dharma does not ban divorce as it is mistakenly portrayed. Why there are so many Divorce cases in the west countries? Do u think it is happening of Freedom, human rights
...'Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement...'

'And Jesus answered them and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.' 1.

Having freedom and human rights has little to do with it.

'Many marriages are not good; they do not please Our Lord and are not of God.' 2.

added: The freedom %26amp; human rights arguments begs the question. Whether you enter marriage freely or by arrangement you may still be discontent or happy. Humans are incapable of making perfect choices for themselves or others. The freedom to divorce allows for higher divorce rate, but statistics are not the problem. Could divorce stats be an indicator that people are becoming more miserable to each other? Or Do you think discontent marriages have been going on just the same all along and nobody had the stats to measure it by?

Or is God out of the family picture more and more?

Is this a measure of sin on the incline?

Perhaps people marrying into free countries then divorce/annual upon full citizenship? (To gain freedom, Human Rights)

Good question. There is merit in everybody's answers.
Partially, I think you could say that it has something to do with Freedom and Human Rights. In some countries and cultures a marriage is held so sacrosanct that the idea of a divorce is alien. However, that does not mean that the marriage is healthy or that maintained in an appropriate manners. While in many of those cultures, there is simply no way to end the marriage without significant, if not permanent ramifications to the couple involved. Whereas in the West, whether good or bad, the stigma surrounding divorce is not as pronounce. And none of this touches on those cultures and belief systems where a woman is not allowed the right of self-determination, but that subject has already been hotly disputed in other venues and I'm sure will be brought up by other people seeking to give their opinion on this matter.

Having said that, though, many countries in the West have become too eager to seek a ';quick fix'; to our problems. If you marriage has become difficult, don't worry about trying to fix it, simply divorce your spouse and find another. In which cases you have people trading in spouses faster than they trade in cars.

Why is that we dont have cases of HIV/AIDS in USA and England? than as reported in African countries?

We do have, it's just that it is more widespread in Africa because that is where it began, most Africans will not wear condoms too, they do not care, and are also extremely promiscuous( they sleep around a lot)Why is that we dont have cases of HIV/AIDS in USA and England? than as reported in African countries?
Because secretly (as in the public dont know) there is a debate as to whether HIV or AIDS even exists. Many Afriocans are diagnose with ';Aids'; even when officially they actually die of Tuberculosis, when ther has been no pre-diagnosis of Aids or HIV beforehand. Why is that we dont have cases of HIV/AIDS in USA and England? than as reported in African countries?
There are many rumours about this epidemic. That it was human engeneered to reduce population, that it began in monkeys, that you can catch it from the toilet seet.

    to be continued

The fact is that in the western world it was Identified quite early and serious steps were taken, to inform, and sometimes even terrorise people with the threat. It was identified as reaching the US in early eighties, within im sorry to say, the Gay community. It was Identified that sex tourists to Africa, spread the unknown threat through the blossoming san fransisco gay community. IT IS NOT A GAY desease, this was just circumstancial.
we do have cases of aids/hiv,its just more rapant in africa because of lesser funds which means less tests, condoms, and medication...........donate!!!!!!

Should we keep Juries in criminal cases?

Should we ??Should we keep Juries in criminal cases?
It is a constitutional requirement to have juries unless the defendant waives their right.Should we keep Juries in criminal cases?
Jury trials actually comprise only about 5% of all criminal case dispositions. The vast majority are plea bargained, the remainder dismissed or nolle prossed. Since it is a right guaranteed by the Constitution if the defendant so chooses, removing it would require a Constitutional amendment that I doubt would (or should) pass.
    Absolutely.

The right to a jury is constitutionally guaranteed. It is a procedural due process protection against potential abuse of power by the government.

Should abortion be illegal in all cases?

NO it should not.*Should abortion be illegal in all cases?
Abortion shouldn't be a topic up for political debate. Period. It is a non-issue in politics since it has nothing to do with the way the government should be run.

Roe v. Wade is not going to be overturned. The five seat majority of conservative justices in the SCOTUS have never expressed an interest in the issue, and they never will.

People need to get over this issue and focus on the things that REALLY matter in this country.Should abortion be illegal in all cases?
no, i think it SHOULD be illegal for those that would abort for their own selfish reasons, because they got screwed and chose to have sex they need to own up to their actions and take responsibility

it should not be illegal to those that were victims of rape, incest, or if the pregnancy/birth would kill the child or the mother in question.
I think it should. Heres why I believe that we are humans at the point of conception. 4-6 weeks an embryo already has eyes and is starting to form organs. Now their are difficult decisions to be made when the mothers life is in danger or the prenatal is in danger, but I believe that as Americans we should understand that our rights are given to us by our creator, these certain unalienable rights, specifically Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. At the point of conception we are created, are cells begin to divide, we have already surpassed insurmountable odds of being that 1 in a billion sperm, and fertilized egg to actually be meet gestation. Their are sometimes when the decision of abortion is in the forefront of the mind, but just the other day I saw a statistic on MSNBC that said 76 million women die or are severely injured around the world due to abortion. Granted a lot happen in underdeveloped countries. I say that embryo, fetus, prenatal, are all the same created by God with certain unalienable rights, Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
The Bible says that those people who do such things shall never enter the Kingdom of heaven, unless they repent. I cant believe that people who murder go to jail, but the people who perform abortions do not go to jail, In case they did'nt know it abortion is murder. May God give this Nation wisdom to repent and see that this is wrong.
Heck yes, because if it was, I would sue the pants off the abortion clinic that tried to abort me...no thats right:

    I'm an abortion survivor.

Christians, why is it that your prayers for the ill are only answered in cases where we can use medicine?

Prayer never seems to work in a situation where there is no known medical treatment for the person's condition. (Amputees, etc)Christians, why is it that your prayers for the ill are only answered in cases where we can use medicine?
Miracles are not covered under health insurance Linz.Christians, why is it that your prayers for the ill are only answered in cases where we can use medicine?
Uh huh. Ask a doctor that question. I'm sure there are very few who haven't seen a miracle or two in their days...

There are literally thousands of documented cases of miraculous healing, in the Bible and outside the Bible. One just has to become educated with the facts.
Depends upon what you are praying for. Perhaps for the amputee it's to have their stump be healthy and for them to be able to mentally and physically deal with this huge change in their life.

For the dying person, we often pray for a peaceful death, for God to take them with love and caring to a better place, to end their suffering here on earth. When my grandmother called out her late husbands name, smiled, and took her last breath... a prayer was answered... she was with him again and she was whole again, and she went peacefully... that had been our prayer.
Well I have seen a guy fal from a two story building and go to the Romainian hosbital and walk away with a scratch and a headache, I have seen a guy with cross eyes, get prayed for and then his eyes were straight (talk about god given surgery) and I have been mentally healed of my suicidal tendancies, you have to hang around christian churches to see miralces without surgery, so believe it or not.
You are wrong and I am proof. I was epileptic. Have been since I was born. I had 3-4 seizures a year. They were grandmal. That means, they were the worst type. I would convulse, foam at the mouth, roll my eyes, everything. I had a seizure one day in the NYC Bus station on the escalator with my husband. Noone wanted to help us. He did it all for me. Kept me awake, made sure I was okay, drug me off to the side to keep my off the escalator. We even missed our bus; however, that is where my point comes in. While we were waiting for the bus a man out of the blue (I think he was someone special ';touched'; by God) and asked if he could pray for me. He said he felt like something had happened and we wanted to know what was wrong and if there was any way that he could pray for me to help. I was a skeptic at that time (19 years old); I am new to experiencing my beliefs in God ( I am still young..24); but, this man prayed for me and I have not had a seizure since. To me that is a miracle. To me this man healed me. He gave me a business card and asked me to call and he would pray for my daughter as well; however, being skeptical as I was at the time I did not do this (my daughter is epileptic as well btw) and my daughter still has seizures. How awesome an experience I had. It was amazing. This man opened my heart to Jesus and God and gave me the ';proof'; that I needed to believe. I wish I could see this man one more time and thank him for the wonderful gift he gave me!
Well, that may be your experience with prayer. It isn't mine--though often prayers of the type you've mentioned don't get answered--sometimes they do. People can argue over whether God's the source (I believe He is), but I've seen some pretty miraculous things that I don't want to just cynically discount. You are of course free to hold your opinion.
    well there are prosthetics, hehe
why you ask question like that? sure you will end up in hell... praise the lord.
Personally I believe that doctors and medicine are an instrument that God uses to answer those prayers.

As for your reference for answering prayer without medical treatment the Roman Catholic Church has scientifically documented several cases of divine intervention. Miracles are a required to become a saint in the Roman Catholic Church. The most common form of miracle is a medical miracle.

In the case of amputees wouldn't the loss of an appendage be more desirable than a loss of life?

God does answer prayer. It just so happens that sometimes that answer is ';No';.
Or in other words, medical conditions that have a known spontaneous remission rate.
    like HIV ?

most people think cancer is a cases where patient have to go through treatment and that if someone is healed without treatment , it must be god's doing.

but , little is actually known about cancer , there are cases whereby someone is suddenly cured even if he doesnt believe in god or what.

    -

cases like HIV , or leprosy , i haven seen any miraculous cure . millions in africa are still dying of disease such as hiv as we speak.

I've heard that if the human liver has trauma to it, that in some cases it can regenerate the lost tissue?

ie: I seem to remember a story where an infant needed a new liver - however, one could not be found that was a match (by blood type/size.) One of the parents then donated a portion of their liver to ';create'; a new one for the baby. It went on to say that the missing portion in the parent would regenerate itself. Can an adult donate a portion of a healthy liver to ';create'; a new one for an adult diagnosed with cirrhosis?I've heard that if the human liver has trauma to it, that in some cases it can regenerate the lost tissue?
Yes, a living liver transplant is possible. I know a woman who donated a portion of her liver to her husband. Although he ultimately died, his life was extended for several years, allowing him more time with his children. Her liver fully regenerated. The attached link describes more about living liver transplants. In the best cases, both the donor and the recipient end up with a fully functioning liver. Sometimes, the transplant does not take, but the donors generally recover fully, although the surgery itself does present signficant risks, as does any surgery.I've heard that if the human liver has trauma to it, that in some cases it can regenerate the lost tissue?
the liver is theonly self-regenerating organ. It's true that a person can lose half their liver (by doanting it or whatever)and it will regenerate, and the body of the person they donated the other half to will complete it.
    yes you are right
as little as 25% remaining of a liver will regenerate, it's due to having a kind of stem cell called hepatocytes present which will divide and cause regrowth. not sure about cirrhosis as this replaces normal liver with fibrous tissue. liver transplant is the only option in advanced cases.
yes the liver can regenerate itself, and can heal itself if you have suffered from cirosis
This is definitely a truth about a healthy liver regenerating itself. However, the use of a living donor for a liver really isn't done too much. It puts both the donor and reciepient at risk and is usually avoided unless absolutely necessary. Good question! Hope this helps a little bit.
I have had 70% of my liver cut out %26amp; it grew back w/in a few months. I may later have to have the other 30% cut out. So, Yes an adult can donate a portion of their liver %26amp; the portion will grow back. It's a very bad surgery but if someone you love has cirrhosis it would be worth it to save their life.
No. Those cells that already specialized for the tissue types surrounding it. It's not the same with adults. Tissue matching the liver from from the donor to a recipient is more complicated than most people know. Theoretical possibility, but in terms of actual numbers of success not very probable. Less so the more significant the damage. And why would you even think about a transplant unless the damage was significant?
There are two lobes to the liver. One lobe can regenerate if enough healthy tissue exists. The other lobe, however, isn't so equipped. When it comes to cirrhosis of the liver, there is too much damage to regrow.
yes it can believe its the only organ that can heal its self as long as the damage is not to great . I don't think Dr. would to that to some one that had cirrhosis
I know first hand that it does.

I have liver cancer. 3 years ago I had 23% of my liver removed (tumor had lived there), I was in remission for 10 months and my liver regrew (regenerated) not quite entirely because the cancer is back. But if I had fought the cancer better my liver would of 100% been back.
Yes. My stepfather had cancer in his bile duct that he eventually succumbed to. One of the treatment options originally considered was to remove about 2/3 of his liver, because if the remaining portion of his liver was healthy, it could regenerate. That treatment option proved impossible because the cancer had spread to both bile ducts and thus to both sides of the liver.

The liver is the only vital organ that can regenerate itself.

The second part of question is far tricker. Human liver donor transplantation should be possible, but it runs all of the risks associated with transplantation and possible rejection.

In the case of cancer of the liver, it is not possible, because the anti-rejection medicines used suppress the immune system and thus allow the cancer to quickly attack other organs.

How did humans, out of all the animlas, come to desire the Divine? In some cases to desire it over life itself?

We as Humans are NOT animals to begin with! How did humans, out of all the animlas, come to desire the Divine? In some cases to desire it over life itself?
As the first answerer said we can work with abstractions. Gods take the form of super parents, creating us and instructing us in their particular morality. The original tribal unit would have been small, probably consisting of one or two families with a matriarch or patriarch at its head. Gods would have been a reflection of that, a supernatural matriarch or patriarch to look after the tribe in a hostile world, often they may have been ancestors deified. As our societies got bigger so did the gods.

As for why we can work with abstractions, that might be involved with the development of language, which uses symbols. Once we could use symbolism the rest is history. How did humans, out of all the animlas, come to desire the Divine? In some cases to desire it over life itself?
of all the animals, we have the most ability to work with abstractions.
