it has to do do with the job of a coroner....What do ';John Doe'; and ';Jane Doe'; cases mean?
Investigators give a John Doe /Jane Doe name for an unnamed cadaver , as sort of identification until a person has been identified then its the time they name them with their real namesWhat do ';John Doe'; and ';Jane Doe'; cases mean?
John Doe - Male unidentified dead body in a case.


Jane Does - Female unidentified dead body in a case.
It means that the name of the deceased it unknown. They just give the name John or Jane Doe to the dead person.

They don't have any identification on the person -don't know who they are.
Thats what they call people when they dont have their names. John for guys and jane for girls
