wait WITH me

wait WHILE I

wait WHERE I say

wait UNTIL I

...
A famous movie 'WAIT UNTIL DARK'. Wait is many a times utilized with till / until. wait till you get your results... or wait until I reach.... and so on.
You can't just ';Wait someone.'; You either have to wait for someone, wait on someone, wait with someone ...
wait here, wait there, wait up
No, it doesn't always come before 'for'. Wait there! Wait here! Wait until the train comes. Wait patiently. etc.etc.
Wait (un)til you get the answer ...

or,

Wait and see ...

or,

Wait before asking...

or just simply,

Wait !

But don't wait too long ! ;^)
