The consistency of the press to link the FLDS group with the LDS church is interesting and revealing. It would take less than 5 minutes of journalistic effort to arrive at the true relationship between the two; that it is nonexistent.
It takes longer than that to craft each story in such a way that the fabricated association between the two is not readily evident.
Another example of lockstep press bias, is the coverage of the 16yo girl who lodged the initial complaint. Her story of abuse at the hands of FLDS members has been repeated so often it has become rote.
But who has read the story that the girl never existed? The initial accusation against the FLDS was an invention of Rozita Swinton. A 33yo black woman of Colorado Springs TX.

She has been arrested for that crime. Has anyone here read that? Wouldn't that be at least as important as endlessly repeating the initial (and false) accusations?
Another story buried or ignored is how the oft recounted, bizarre details of FLDS life are debunked in court by John Walsh, an independent religious scholar. CNN mentions it; at the end of the article, in a tone very different than the headline.

Also, there is how the prosecution 'expert', Bruce Perry sits on the editorial board of ';Cultic Studies Review';. CSR is better known as the American Family Foundation, an 'anti-cult' entity; originally assembled from smaller organizations dedicated to the elimination of Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Roman Catholics and other not-Protestant Christian faiths.
CSR is now a prominent entity of secular and religious leaders, unified in the goal of deciding who are cultists and then systematically targeting them.
I only know enough about the FLDS to know that they are not Latter Day Saints by any viable definition. I have no knowledge of any other abuse claims or if they are valid. But I've acquired enough evidence to indicate that the press and the prosecution are behaving as if there is no profit in the truth of the matter.

At this point I have to tell you or anyone here who is adamant against the Catholic Church to simply ';Pick up a stone and begin throwing it at the Pope! Or better yet, how about the Priest of person sinning? Because, that's exactly what some are doing here...........Judging others! If you had a specific question about the matters at hand, why not simply write to the Vatican and express your disappointments.
The simple fact is that although you and I may not know it, your very Preacher may have his/her own scandal going on against God in the way of sin, and you may be taking in or wrisking losing the opportunity to gain good wisdom and knowledge of God because of your doubts about others....And we all sin? Right? If a ';man of Faith'; feels he has a calling and his journey takes him through Seminary School and into the Word of God, who are we to want to question or even discontinue his journey to the other end that God may have planned in his life in order that he may come out a convicted and clean spirit? Or even the people who are and have been protecting them, for all that matters. Do you not think that there are many maids in Pastors homes who may know many dark secrets about their employers who could reveal much deviancy about them. Do you feel it is their duty to do so? Stones Anyone?
why bother? i know it's all lies anyway. The Pope apologized for what former clergy men have done to children why can't you let it all lie still please? Questions like this are getting old. As you can tell, The Catholic Church scandal died from the news months ago. Now it's another's turn.
Because it is taboo to talk about religion politically . People are so afraid of being called a hatemonger or intolerant they just avoid the subject all together. I don't care what people think of me. If i see something wrong regardless of who it came from i speak on it.bad is bad no matter whos commiting the crime.
The Polygamist case is new news where as the Catholic priest scandal has been going on for years.
The Polygamist case involves the custody of children at a historically high number whereas the Catholic priest case did not involve child custody.
Grrrrr ... if I had a dollar for every time someone said ';what about the catholics'; I would be rich!
The fact is in every organization, club, school etc has pedophiles ... it is not just the Catholic Church.
Everyone knows priests should not touch children... that is not disputed. The priests are hangning their head in shame.
In the case of the polygamist, this man believes what he is doing is ok. That makes for a better news story.
Probably because the alleged abuse at the polygamist compound is a recent thing.
Most cases of sex abuse by Catholic priests, on the other hand, happened quite some time ago.

For the simple fact that the scandal in the Church has been out there for some time. It doesn't get ratings like it used to. Polygamy comes and goes in the headlines and the viewers eat that stuff up.
There is a lot of money and power in the catholic system. It is not a church. It is a system.
Abuse within the Catholic Church is an aberration.
Abuse within the FLDS is doctrine.
Because in every instance it is wrong and as a society we should be ashamed of the scum-bags we continue to tolerate whether they are catholic or defected-mormons.
Because its the dominate religion and it would be bad if they set off the ';molesting preiset'; image, wouldn;t be good for publicity
Anytime children are abused, it should be dealt with.
We should not have a contest to see who abuses the ';most'; children %26amp; only focus on them %26amp; ignore the rest.
The White House needs a new distraction. They found one.
Why would one crime cancel out the other. They are both ghastly
